Brooklyn's Nursery

Baby girl's nursery is complete! There were a few things I had thought about adding, one long shelf on the wall with the rocker. Window ledges. These things may come in the future but for now I am pleased with how it turned out. It is very peaceful and I just love sitting in her room thinking of all the memories it will soon be filled with. Mommy and Daddy are so excited to meet you baby girl! You can join us as soon as you're ready :)

The mood I was going for was a very light pink with splashes of gold to make it a little more vintage. I still wanted it to look modern though. You can see all the picture frames have yet to be filled with images. I am thinking of what to put in each of them. Not a huge deal. Probably some baby bump pictures, some mum and pop pictures and then ones of our little bambina herself.

I cannot believe she will be here within the next few weeks.

Nursery - As of 122113

I am so excited with how Brooklyn's nursery is coming together! I just need a rocking chair, and I have my eye on a little diddy just need to get it ordered. I feel like all I talk about lately is baby girl but I just can't help it!! I got this adorable pillow and headband for her yesterday. Along with the most adorable swaddle blanket. The pillow is from TJ Maxx and the headband and blanket in the crib are from The Quilted Bear.

Couches

I mentioned awhile ago about how nervous I used to be to online shop. Well, those fears are LOOOONG Gone! Two weeks ago, Jordan and I were looking at couches online and found this little gem! They offered it in gray and it's leather (so easy to wipe off if something spills) and a sectional which we have been wanting AND it was over 50% off!!! We couldn't pass it up. I called the shop to see if they had any left and they said there was ONE but they need to ship it in from Mississippi. The best part, the shipping is free and if we don't want it after seeing it in person they will refund us in full. Okay. It happened, we couldn't pass it up. Look how cute! But ours will be a medium gray color.

Our couches we have right now are the ones we got before we got married. They aren't super old, just about 4 1/2 years, and they held up really great! I think we just were in the need of an update. These are our current couches.

I have a teal accent right now but I am thinking with the gray couches maybe painting our accent wall to just a dark gray color and getting some yellow pillows and switching to more of the gray and yellow vibe. Some pillows like this would be so cute!

Sukan / Yellow Felt, White Linen Pillow Cover - lumbar pillow cover - Decorative Pillow, Throw Pillow Cover, Accent Pillow - 12x20 pillows. $50.00, via Etsy.
Yellow chevron pillow for updating master bedroom linens

Yellow Pillow.20x20 inch.Decorator Throw Pillow Cover.Printed Fabric Front and Back.Indoor Outdoor.Bright Yellow Pillows. $18.00, via Etsy.

I also wanna find a way to do something like this behind the couch.

Can't wait to see the couches and how they look in our space. So much fun to try new things with your home.

Home decor...
It never ends does it?? :)

Mirror

Doing a little stop by Hobby Lobby with Gina yesterday they had all mirror's 50% off! I could not resist. I originally had a place in mind for the little guy above our TV but when I got home, I changed my mind. I wish I could cover all my walls in framed mirrors, they are just so pretty and open up the room.

That wall feels a little naked now. I want to get two matching rod cook book holders for each side, or two long picture frames. Any thoughts? Also I want to do half the wall white and frame it and the top half gray.

Early Days

This week is full of them!! It is hard to have back to back days where you wake up at 5. I'm sure all you mommies out there think "I do that all the time" haha well NOT I!

I am happy that the weekend is upon us. It will be a fun one! Each weekend seems slightly eventful which is great! Even the little things, especially the little things, always make for a fun time. We're going to Olive Garden, my fave, for a friend's birthday dinner. And then going to cross something off my Pinterest baking board with my bestest. It'll be fun!

Today I am blogging to you from my new desk! I am in love. Just need some cute little handles for it. The ones that came with just are too plain. We picked it up from the "kids" section at Target. I just knew I wanted a white desk and that is where it was found :)

Isn't my phone cover the cutest thing??

Make It New Again

It's the most simple of home decorating tips.
However, it never really crossed my mind until I read it in a magazine a little while ago.
When you don't really have money to get new decor for your home there are such great ways to use the stuff you already have and make it feel like new again!
It can be as simple as just rearranging furniture/decor to a new place in your home and all of a sudden the room feels more exciting. Like how you felt the first time you got the item.
I know from personal experience how awesome this works!
Or you can take items you have and just add/take away from them!
An easy one is a candle and wrapping it in scrapbook paper.
Or "painting" the inside of a clear vase to bring it to life.

Here are some pictures of changing around decor.

This little picture frame and lantern are making its way around my house.

See!

It used to look like

Those flowers and mirrored candles are also roaming our room.

I love mixing it up.
Probably at least once a week :)

Geek to Chic

Remember a couple posts back when I mentioned Gina and I went to a few consignment stores?
Well I worked on a little frame I got there.
I didn't have anything crazy in mind for it.
Just a simple little paint job.
This guy cost me a total of ONE dollar.

I got a can of spray paint that ran about $2.
I did a few coats.
It has a few imperfections still.
I may sand it and do one more coat.
There are a few dips and bubbles.
Spray painting is harder than I thought it'd be.
Or I'm just craft-ily handicapped.

But it is now THIS.

I also got the a book from the consignment store.
I knew I was going to be using it to rip pages out so didn't care what it was.
Just hope I didn't accidentally cut out a page with curses on it or something.
I didn't see any ;)

It was THREE dollars.
And I got multi-use out of it!
See it standing on the right behind the frame?

So simple.

Window Shopping Online Style

Today, Charles and Chuck (gina and i) got our shop on.
We went to a few consignment stores.
I told her she is my accomplice because she usually drives
and I usually buy large things.
I got a few needed items.
Painted one, contemplating on painting the other.

You would think that spending a portion of my day shopping with my bff
would satisfy my addiction temporarily.
But Nay!

I have found myself googling, searching, eye purchasing for the last 2 hours.
Shun my eyes before I break.

Look at these Uh mazing finds.
Pattern Chevron Futon - Coral & White

How adorable is this Futon!
I am absolutely in love.
Not really sure where it'd go though.. Office maybe?

Swoop Slipper Accent Chair - Botanical Yellow

This chair would be ALMOST perfect for our bedroom.
I'm not sure if I want anything with a print on it.

Manhattan Storage Bench Brown Large

Or even a bolder color like..

Manhattan Storage Bench Saddle Large
Would loooove something like this for the foot of our bed.

Maybe I should just use my Target credit card and get all these items!
Haha. I wish.
That thing could get me in trouble.

TVILLING Poster, set of 2 IKEA Motif created by Heather Johnston.

These in frames would complete our bedroom.

P.s. There has been a fly vacationing in our home for the last week or more.
Just feeling the breeze in his fur as he soars around the living room.
How long do these things live??
I haven't been ninja enough to kill the sucker yet but I will!

BOO Wreath

Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and got materials to make my Halloween wreath.
I decided to wrap it in yard instead of ribbon this time.
I am happy with how it turned out but man did it take much longer!
I'd say, all together, between 2-2.5 hours!

After Halloween is over I think I'll just replace the ribbon and remove the "BOO"
and make it just a Fall wreath.
WIN / WIN!
