2013 Recap

It is so weird to look back at the year and see all that has happened. My brother welcomed his second baby and my little nephew into the world in March. I helped my sister plan her wedding, bridal shower, and bachelorette party all in the early part of the year then she made the most beautiful bride when she got married in June! Jordan and I won a photoshoot with Jadie who took such amazing pictures of us that we get to keep and display in our house. Jordan and I had many doctor appointments and I took different medications and had several xrays, ultrasounds and hospital bills at the beginning of the year all so worth it when we got our positive pregnancy test at the end of June! Then more doctors appointments and ultrasounds after that but all just to make sure our baby is healthy. We had the possibility of having multiples but to find out we had one little peanut at my early ultrasound was amazing and hearing her heartbeat for the first time. Ever hearing or seeing OUR baby!! Jordan got a promotion. We worked on our house and the baby room. Got a puppy, got rid of a puppy after realizing we weren't home enough to love and care for it or train it and just made us too sad to put it in a small kennel all day. We spent tons of amazing times with our friends and families and I got lots of cute crafts done! I loved 2013 for it brought both times of sadness which blossomed in to the most joyful times of our lives.

Pumpkins

Tonight we carved some pumpkins at my dads house and celebrated my birthday. It was tons of fun. I always love seeing them. Plus, I love carving pumpkins with Jordan! Also, I think we've chosen a name for baby girl Burrows! :)

Happy Halloween Week!

25th Birthday!

Today is my 25th BIRTHDAY! I just wanted to take a quick moment before I lay my head to sleep for the night to thank all of my wonderful friends, family, and co-workers. I was really excited to take the day off, since I couldn't last year. Last week I got an appointment for a mandatory training I had to attend from 1230-430 so then I thought "at least I can sleep in, and go in later."  Well... Yesterday I got another mandatory appointment for a meeting at...
get this..
7 AM!!!
I was bummed to say the least. I would then might as well work the whole day. I ended up doing so and it was not bad at all! Jordan delivered flowers to my desk yesterday (thinking I'd be off on my birthday) and I felt absolutely overjoyed and slightly embarrassed. The attention of a bunch of flowers hanging on your desk brings roses to my cheeks. The smelt fabulous though and it completely made my day/week/everything!
The two sets was the sweetest part. He said one was for baby. Which is another reason my birthday felt so special this year! With our little scare earlier in the week it was just a reminder of how grateful I am for her growing inside me. Every time I feel her I just get a sense of magic running through my bones.
My co-workers were the sweetest. My friends and all the birthday wishes then dinner tonight with my husband and sister was very special. Plus, she got me a few things for baby room :)

The cherry on top was a call from my niece to wish me happy birthday.

Thank you everyone for your thoughtfulness. It makes me feel very unreal with love and happiness. I am excited to see my bestie and family this weekend to continue some celebrations.

Invites & Banner

I have been getting pretty crafty lately.
Or at least I would think so.
With the wedding festivities arising I wanted to put together a few of my own things.
Here are the invites I made for my sister and also the banner for her bridal shower.
It's been a lot of fun!

I thought about doing some kind of tutorial but the pictures pretty much explain it all.

For the banner I decided to use fabric instead of paper and twine for the string.

Day For Love

Our Valentines Day was super chill and absolutely amazing.
Lots of girls around me had flowers delivered to their desks at work. Not I. But I didn't mind. Love is not a competition. I would actually prefer to not get them to my desk, unless it was unexpected on a whim type thing. I'd probably be blushing all day either way which I hate!
I have bad genes that way.
But Jordan did bring me home the most beautiful bouquet I have ever seen, along with adorable words written in a card. I gave him a nike gift card and love note of my own.
We decided to stay in. Avoid the chaos. Just be alone in our home. We watched our movie 50 First Dates and ordered a pizza. It was my bliss.

I couldn't stop taking pictures of these flowers, they were just so gorgeous.

Christmas 2012

Christmas came and went. And joyous it was! Crazy? Oh it was that too! We went to my dad's, Jordan's sisters, my mom's and Jordan's parents all in an 8 hour span of time. Super filled with family and joy. I love getting together with them all.

J and I opened our presents Christmas Eve, Jordan was just so excited and like I'm gonna say no??
We always take a picture of us holding our favorite presents. So here are just a few pictures of our day.

It was a white beautiful Christmas. I hope you all got to spend time with loved ones and received any Christmas Miracles you had been hoping for.

Lights

Yesterday was so much fun. The Mr and I went and got our parents Christmas gifts and then came home for a little bit and bummed around. We had plans to go see lights later with his sister, her husband, and her kids. We went to get dinner when she text us and says they can't make it. I honestly was going to say "Let's just stay home tonight" it's funny how I'm like an 80 year old lady, I just love staying in. But Jordan was like "No, lets just go anyway." A little hesitant I agreed. Right after dinner we drove to the trax station and waited for the train. It was blowing freezing cold winds! Which gave us the perfect opportunity to hold onto each other for dear life.

When we got down town there was this tiny little hot cocoa stand right by the entrance of Temple Square. We stopped and picked up two to go. No joke, this was like magic cocoa. After a few sips I was no longer feeling cold what-so-ever! We walked around looking at the beautiful lights, hand in hand, sipping our cocoa. It was super fun and a nice little date. Don't get me wrong, it was Jam PACKED with people, but we didn't mind too much. We came home and watched some Christmas movies, some friends, and headed to bed. I am so glad we went :)

I was too scared to ask someone to take a picture of us together so this is all we have.

White Christmas

I cannot believe that Christmas is only 5 days away! Nuts! Are you all ready? I'm not. Mostly I am but I need to get a few things for our families. Every year I feel like Christmas creeps up on us. And then it's gone. I hope to get super in the holiday spirit this weekend. We are going to see lights tomorrow and get some hot co-co. Can't wait for a 4 day weekend!
Let's wish for snow and peace on earth!

 Love,

100!

I am in love with this weekend and how it has been full of little precious moments spent alone in our home with my handsome husband. Just doing silly every day things bring a smile to my face. Grocery shopping in the blizzard and my gentleman of a husband telling me to get warm while he puts the groceries in the car. Him coming home and shoveling our driveway. I tried to return the favor and make him lunch for when he was done. His cheeks all rosy red. Deciding which scent to use for our Scentsy warmer for the Christmas weekend that is just around the corner. Him in the other room blasting Biebs. Just snuggling with him in bed at night before we fall asleep.

Life is great.

Guess what! Today I reached 100 followers. I think it is kinda cool. Thank you everyone who cares about what I have to say. I want to do a fun little give away to celebrate! Also to celebrate the spirit of giving!

I got some great Christmas shopping done yesterday! I am so excited to say we finally have wrapped gifts under our tree. We just drove around trying to find The Grinch to watch tonight but we were unsuccessful. Darn it.

This week I look forward to multiple Secret Santa exchanges and spending time with close friends and family! T minus 8 Days till Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas!
I want to dress up like Santa for work and make everyone's day.

Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Last week Gina and I got together and went to The Wood Connection for the very first time! That place is awesome! I love it. Can't wait for my next project. We got letters to paint and modge podge for Christmas decor. Mine say "Ho Ho Ho"

I think I need a little Santa to go in front of them or something.

Our weekend has been great. Yesterday we went to breakfast at Denny's with my family, my sweet grandma paid for everyone. And today was our baking party! This year we did some oreo truffles. I ate a TON and now my tummy hurts. So worth it though :)

Tuesday 10 - Guest Post

Hey Everyone! Today I have a fun guest post from Natasha! Check out her blog.
She is the cutest I ever seen!
She and I blog similarly and both love Taylor Swift!
Make sure to also check out my 10 favorite things over at her blog.
I'll turn the time over to her :)

Hi I'm Natasha from the blog "Hello, Sunshine" and this is me.
that felt awkward, so let's move on. I get the feeling that Allie & I basically like 9.3 out of 10 of the same things, so I thought it would be fun for us to do a little post swap.  I recently started doing a Tuesday Ten on my blog so we decided to do a Christmas related Tuesday Ten. So here we go. Ten Things You Can't Go Without Doing at Christmas Time:

 1. Always number one on my list is listening to the N'sync Christmas CD, beloved to me since the tender age of 8. The song you can't miss is "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays." Belt it, JT. Belt. it.
can't handle all the manliness can you?
2. Also someone who recently made it to the list of necessary Christmas songs is Mr. Justin Bieber.  His song "Mistletoe?" It's is as classic as Frank Sinatra. And you can quote me on that. It's also necessary to watch the music video because you are all of a sudden trapped into a snow globe of a teenage music video where Justin Bieber is dancing in the middle of the street, and you are pretty sure he is calling you "Shorty" and asking you to meet him under the mistletoe. I'm there married.

3. Using (and overusing is even better) lines from the movie "Elf." One of my personal favorites: "We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup." [I think these are actually the 4 main food groups my husband sticks to, also.]

 4. Going to an ugly sweater party, or at least taking pictures in some. Last year my husband and I wore ugly sweaters to a family Christmas party. I hand sewed Christmas ornaments and a giant bow onto this awful looking hot pink sweater. I thought it was all sorts of genius and quite frankly hilarious, until most of the people at the party thought I was serious and that my sweater was "cute." I've never been the same since.

5. Drinking hot chocolate every single day. Completely necessary.

6. Having Christmas Eve slumber parties with your siblings like you're still 7-years-old. One of my favorite memories and traditions ever.
 7. glitter. everywhere. I'm not really picky about what you do with the glitter, as long as you're finding it clear until April. That's typically how I measure Christmas success.

8. Making Christmas cookies for Santa, even when there are no children in the household. If you knew anything about Santa, you would know he likes cookies made by adults too.

 9. By now I hope it has been a solid 2-3 months since you have shaved your legs, seeing as it is unnecessary in the winter time. This allows for Christmas Eve leg hair growing contests, which really build a strong bond amongst family members. And that my friends is what Christmas spirit is all about.

10. White washing the weakest member of your family member, or the family member least likely to retaliate (for those of you in non-snowing states, that means shoving someones face in the snow). Despite popular belief, babies and toddlers are not exempt from this ;) As you can see, I take Christmas traditions quite seriously. You should see me when it's my birthday. I don't mess around.

We may have got a little ahead of ourselves doing a Christmas post, but the excitement couldn't be contained (I told you we were similar). Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all of you lovelies.

Thanxgiving and All That Jazz

How was everyone's Thanksgiving weekend?
Mine was fabulous. Couldn't have been better.
Wednesday we went over to my sisters for her birthday. And baked a bunch of rolls for dinner the following day.
Thursday I made more rolls. Went to dinner at my Grandma's. Then we went over to Jordan's sisters. I got to hold my new baby nephew for the first time! Then went to Jordan's moms.
Friday Derrick came over and I went to Gina's and hung out with her and her adorable Olivia. Olivia is such a great little dancer. Oh and J and I got new phones! Yaye! I stopped by my nieces later to see her new castle bed.
Saturday we got taco bell, my mom/gary came to bring us a poinsetta (spelling) and later I watched "Friends with Benefits" while starting to sew mine and Jordie's new stockings!
Today we went and got breakfast at Village Inn and went grocery shopping. It was MUCH needed! We were foodless.

I had planned on gettin more pictures from this weekend. But surprisingly I got close to none.
This is What I Wore to our Thanksgiving Dinner.

And just a few pictures of our Christmas decor :)

Now back to work! Yaye.... :)
