Brooklyn's Nursery

Baby girl's nursery is complete! There were a few things I had thought about adding, one long shelf on the wall with the rocker. Window ledges. These things may come in the future but for now I am pleased with how it turned out. It is very peaceful and I just love sitting in her room thinking of all the memories it will soon be filled with. Mommy and Daddy are so excited to meet you baby girl! You can join us as soon as you're ready :)

The mood I was going for was a very light pink with splashes of gold to make it a little more vintage. I still wanted it to look modern though. You can see all the picture frames have yet to be filled with images. I am thinking of what to put in each of them. Not a huge deal. Probably some baby bump pictures, some mum and pop pictures and then ones of our little bambina herself.

I cannot believe she will be here within the next few weeks.

36 Weeks!

How far along? 36 Weeks!!

Baby's size? 19-22 in and about 6 lbs.

Maternity clothes? No new ones.

Total weight gain: 22 lbs. We'll see for sure at my appt though next week.

Sleep: I'm up in the middle of the night again to pee. Also, starting to get pretty uncomfortable and hard to fall asleep.

Best moment(s) this past week:Receiving the handmade quilt from my momma. It is absolutely beautiful and I know Brooklyn will treasure it forever. I am truly grateful! Also, I got a pedicure today and it was pretty much amazing. I needed it so bad.

Miss Anything? I want to list something I DON'T miss! Periods. Haha. It's been really nice to not have to worry about them for the last 9 months. But now it's "when is my water gonna break" "where will I be" "what if Jordan isn't with me" So fun and crazy to think about.

Movement: She pushes all my stuff into my ribs and sometimes I can't sit for long periods of time cause it squishes everything and gets really uncomfortable. Lots of people can see her move without me pointing it out, it's pretty magical.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not too bad. Glad the sickness didn't come back in the 3rd trimester like I hear it can.

Cravings: Fro-yo. Banana's.

Labor Signs: I've been getting the worst back labor this week. Thank heavens for Jordan rubbing it out for me

Gender: Baby Girl

Symptoms: Swollen feet and calves. Where did my ankles go? Funny to take off my socks and show Jordan the indents. We both get a good laugh.

Belly Button in or out? Out!

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Moody and happy. Like extreme happiness. I just get hurt heart feelings when it isn't even something that directly effects me. I just think I feel all too strongly right now. I don't feel sad, I just ache for people in weird ways. More than usual.

Looking forward to: Dr appointment on Tuesday. Then I go weekly. YIKES! Lets see if I got any dialation goin on... haha.

35 Weeks

How far along? 35 Weeks!!

Baby's size? 19-22 in and about 5.9 lbs.

Maternity clothes? No new ones.
Total weight gain: 21 lbs.

Sleep: I'm up in the middle of the night again to pee.

Best moment(s) this past week: We got a ton done! We put together our daughters bassinet, installed the car seat, got a stroller. We're feeling pretty prepared. Plus her nursery is about done! Also, on Friday, Jordan and my work teams threw us a combined little potluck and baby bash. It was a complete surprise!! We are so incredibly lucky to have them! We got lots of wonderful gifts that we needed. Plus some yummy food!

Miss Anything? Eating cake batter and raw cookie dough. I have been indulging in cake batter flavored ice cream and it hits the spot.

Movement: She hangs out really high. My tummy feels about as hard as a boulder right below my chest. The most common place I feel kicks are on my right side. Far to the side.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Just being too warm.

Cravings: Ice cream. S'mores pop tarts.

Labor Signs: Not really.

Gender: Baby Girl

Symptoms: Gettin that waddle swag from time to time.

Belly Button in or out? Out!

Wedding rings on or off? Off. :( I been wearing my promise ring.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Still Happy!! And excited! But also moody, been a rough week. I got really frustrated in traffic. Pregnant women shouldn't be allowed to drive, road rage = all time high. haha.

Looking forward to: Completely finishing Brooklyn's nursery.

Best moment(s) this past week:I washed all of Brooklyn's clothes, blankies, etc and put them all away. It was so much fun. I also got her take home outfit planned and ready to pack.

Miss Anything? A tan.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Just being too warm and causterphobic.

Cravings: Anything chocolate. Cereal. Fry sauce. Strawberry Banana smoothies.

Labor Signs: Not really.

Gender: Baby Girl

Symptoms: Skin darkening, I feel like I always look tired..

31 Weeks

How far along? 31 Weeks.

Baby's size? About 18 in. about 3.2 lbs.

Total weight gain: Total, about 19 big ones.

Maternity clothes? Yep! Looking for a cute Maternity dress for my shower in a few weeks.

Sleep: I have been sick for the last week. I'm miserable! My nose won't stop running and I have a horrible cough that keeps me up.

Best moment(s) this past week: Last week we got our 4d ultrasound! It was absolutely amazing! Our little girl is insanely perfect. I am so excited to meet her. The cord was covering half her face most the time but she didn't seem to mind. Isn't she just precious???

Miss Anything? I just wish I could take some Nyquil or something to help me sleep through this cold but it'll pass, hopefully soon.

Movement: Yes! Especially if I drink something sweet. She likes to remind us she's okay.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nah.

Cravings: Diet Coke. I wish I didn't want it.

Labor Signs: Yesterday I felt my first "Braxton Hicks" contraction.

Gender: Baby Girl

Symptoms: 2 mini tiny fake contractions that I've noticed.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!!! We had a crazy holiday but all the time spent with Jordan was so great. We kept thinking how different next year will be with our little family.

Looking forward to: We ordered our rocker and it should come in a week and a half! Also, my baby shower is in 2 weeks!

27 1/2 Weeks with Baby B

How far along? 27 1/2 Weeks! Almost 3rd trimester eeeek!

Baby's size? Head of cauliflower, about 2.5 lbs and 16 inches long.

Total weight gain: Just 1 lb between doctor visits, I am happy about this, especially after Thanksgiving.

Maternity clothes? Yes. Got a pair of work pants last week. I love them! So comfy and keep my underwear from falling out when I bend over...

Sleep: Not bad. I have to turn about ever hour and sometimes it gives me side pains for a second. Baby also sometimes kicks very low when I am trying to sleep which is distracting.

Best moment(s) this past week: Putting together the crib and making my baby shower invitations!

Miss Anything? Tanning. I loved going tanning in the Winter, just to catch some vitamin D and feel all warm.

Movement: I am pretty sure baby B found her way up into my ribs a few times last week. It was a little uncomfortable but I love when she moves up high it reminds me that she has plenty of space.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. Just fish smell like always.

Cravings: Candy cane pie from VI.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Gender: Baby Girl Brooklyn.

Symptoms: I got that line goin down my belly a little now.. I also have been getting some back pain from the extra weight in my belly.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy! Still get a little moody more easily but nothing crazy.

Looking forward to: Finishing her dresser this week. Gotta put the drawers together and we're all set!

I dreamt about our little princess again last night. She pressed her face up against my belly and I could see her features and I saw her mouth open and her eyes open and she had the prettiest eye lashes. I know she loves us as much as we love her.

Yug & Yaye!

For the past few days I have been feeling very "yugh" only because I have had an extremely sore throat. Generally I'd self medicate by downing some Nyquil and sucking on cough drops all day. Being pregnant makes me nervous to take anything, I have a doctor appointment next week so I'll ask what is okay to help with the throbbing but it sure does bite the big one. I guess it just wouldn't be the holidays without a fever, cough and sore throat.

On a lighter and brighter note. No one ever really told me how amazing it is to feel your sweet heart move! I feel Brooklyn all the time and I just can't help but smile from ear to ear. She does the wave sometimes. Where she bulges my tummy on the right side for a few seconds then moves over the the left. I LOVE it! There is no other feeling like it. People have told me "it feels like an alien" but I disagree, I think it is the most natural feeling I have felt. Like this is something I should be feeling and is just part of life and growing a life. I am so very grateful for her and every day just hope for her to stay healthy and safe for a few more months.

I have been painting a little more than I ever have in my life. Just little projects for the nursery. I got this little cat at a thrift store in West Jordan for ONE whole dollar and covered it in some gold paint. I'm excited to put it at the end of some books.

I did actually do another touch up since the second picture around that eye and covered it with a gloss top coat.

I also dipped a few mason jars in glitter! This is a messy project but, UH totally worth it! I used masking tape to make the hard line and then just mod podged and poured glitter on it. Removed the tape. And covered with a sealant spray :)

We also got Brooklyn's crib! The nursery is really starting to look like a baby room. I love spending time in there <3 br="">

24 Weeks!

How far along? 24 Weeks!

Baby's size? Ear of Corn, about 8.5 inches and 1.6 ish lbs.

Total weight gain: Depends on whose scale I'm on. Mine at home says 13 lbs but the dr's office on Thursday read closer to 16. I like our scale better ;)

Maternity clothes? Yep! (pictured above) still just the one pair of pants, I have a hard time finding cute Maternity clothes.

Sleep: Good.

Best moment(s) this past week: Hearing the heartbeat again. Got the room painted!

Miss Anything? My Diet Coke addiction. I indulge in one more often than I did my first trimester, but before pregnancy I was downing multiple 32 oz's a day. I also miss running without a care. I don't dare now.

Movement: I felt some slow but big movements this week! It was like a bum or a leg just pressed up against my hand. And then I felt it roll. It was magical, the only word I can use to describe it.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Car rides have started to get me feeling slightly sick again.

Cravings: Chocolate Oranges!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Gender: Baby Girl Brooklyn.

Symptoms: Starting to feel sick again. Chubby face feeling.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  I got a little moody the other day, I am still very happy though! I just chewed Jordan's head off about ruining the surprise dinner I wanted to make him. He probably thought I was crazy. He's so supportive, I love seeing how much joy he has in his eyes when he talks about holding our baby for the first time.

Looking forward to: Hopefully getting a crib within the next few weeks. Okay, it's getting real now! I am so happy to have made it this far. It comforts me to know that in about 2 months I could have her early and she'd be perfectly healthy. Not that I want her to come anytime before she needs to, but knowing that if she did if she'd be able to live, that is flippin exciting!

The other night I had a dream that I had our baby at home, and I just wrapped her up in a blanket and went and grabbed Jordan and said "look babe, she's here" and he immediately grabbed her and held her against his chest and rocked her. She was sooo perfect! She had a thin layer of dark brown hair, it was a full head of hair. (this is very unlikely to be how she really is born, very likely she'll have light hair, but we'll see!) Then I told Jordan we better call the hospital and have her checked out to make sure everything is okay, then her nose started to turn black so they told us it might be broken. It was crazy.

I've had the craziest dreams lately. All they do is remind me how much I can't wait to meet you baby girl! When I see pictures online or mommies at the star I just get this pit in my heart and think of how bad I want a baby and to start our family. When I think that it should happen in the next few months I just feel overwhelmed with happiness. We sure do love you Brooklyn. So very much.

22 Weeks

How far along? 22 weeks 1 days

Baby's size? Papaya. About 8 inches and a little over 1 lb.

Total weight gain: I haven't weighed myself since my last appointment. Been meaning to get batteries for our scale so I can keep track.

Maternity clothes? Dun-dana-dun! I bought my first pair of Maternity Jeans today.

Sleep: I wake up here and there. But not bad.

Best moment(s) this past week: Receiving my tummy butter to help with itching.

Miss Anything? My face feels chubby. I miss the normal feeling of my old face when I smiled haha.. but all for good reasons :) I know I have more chubby cheeks in my next 18 ish weeks.

Movement: Yes! I thank the heavens every time I feel her and am reminded she is okay. She mostly moves at night when I am getting in bed. BUT she was going crazy this morning for Daddy. He loved it.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Just when I get too thirsty, I start to feel sick. So gotta keep something pumping through my blood.

Cravings: Sunny D OJ. Jamba Juice.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: Swollen hands and feet.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On. Barely. I think today may have been my last day. My hands are just getting rather swollen

Happy or Moody most of the time:  So happy but very emotional. I had a lot of emotional tears these last 2 weeks. For my family and from silly things on tv. I blame baby.

Looking forward to: Feeling her up higher. I started to feel her sometimes by my belly button. Most the time she is still just kicking low by my waist line.

Pumpkins

Tonight we carved some pumpkins at my dads house and celebrated my birthday. It was tons of fun. I always love seeing them. Plus, I love carving pumpkins with Jordan! Also, I think we've chosen a name for baby girl Burrows! :)

Happy Halloween Week!

Nursery Thoughts

My vision for our little girls nursery is getting more and more vivid. I am thinking of very light gray walls, white furniture, and then pops of pale pink, yellow, and gold accents. I am thinking very floral and butterfly-ish.
We started painting the trim / doors white last weekend. I am thinking of doing one wall with polka dots but where I get stuck is should I do: White with gray polka dots, gray with pink polka dots, or gray with gold polka dots?
And what wall to do it on? The wall with the crib?
I can't wait to get the room painted and to start purchasing the furniture and really see my idea come alive! The room where our little baby will sleep and play. So unreal :)

The Before.

20 wks 4 days

How far along? 20 weeks 4 days

Baby's size? Banana about 11 oz,

Total weight gain: A lot.. I feel like I am ready for it to slow down, but I know I everything says if anything it'll pick up from now on out. 12 lbs.

Maternity clothes? No. I need to consider some maternity work pants though.

Sleep: Pretty good this last week.

Best moment(s) this past week: Our doctor appointment! It was a great day. We also started painting the baby room! EEK!

Miss Anything? Clear ISH skin.

Movement: It's getting more often. I feel her every day! Sometimes big ones and sometimes little ones. The big ones still make me speak out loud without even thinking about it like "oooOooO" or "Oh well hello lil baby!"

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. Surprisingly I even had to clean chilli, cheese and salsa off of my car carpet floor at 8 AM yesterday and I didn't even gag once. (It was disgusting)

Cravings: Baja blast. Orange juice. I'm just ALWAYS so thirsty.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Gender: Girl!!! As sure as you can be without seeing her yourself.

Symptoms: Burping.Skin Break outs. Bulging belly. Dry lips (is that a symptom? my lips are so dry no matter what I do) Pregnancy brain!!

Belly Button in or out? In.  But almost kind of like flat. It's silly.

Wedding rings on or off? On. But definitely getting tight.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Over the moon. But also very emotional. This has been a tough week for me for silly reasons. I shattered my phone screen and I spilled a crock pot of queso all over my car floor. Both almost brought me to tears! So silly right?? Luckily I was able to rationalize with myself and keep the water works off. I blame the hormones. I swear I'm not usually like this.

Looking forward to: Shopping for baby books and other nick nacks this weekend for her.

P.S. I hope baby doesn't get sick of listening to me sing all day long. I am convinced that since I didn't get the talent, she will! Also, speaking of pregnancy brain, I originally titled this "19 wks 4 days" and even wrote that on the picture, it was when I was about to post the link to my Facebook that I realized it was wrong... This happens all day in different ways. My blonde hair doesn't make my case any better.

Baby Girl

I had my big ultrasound last week! The tech said I am measuring about 4 days ahead but they're going to keep my due date the same.
03/02/14
But seems there is a good chance we might get a February baby.
I had no idea they did this, but the tech recorded the entire ultrasound and put it on a dvd for us to take home!! I am ecstatic that we get to keep our little video forever! We of course also got a few more images to hang up. Everything looks great!
The tech also confirmed we are having a
sweet
precious
little
baby
GIRL

We are so happy that our baby is healthy. I can already tell that she'll be a little daddy's girl.
Jordan will be the most precious father and teach her what to look for in boys (long, long down the road)

Check out her little button nose. If she gets Jordan's dimples I think we'll be in trouble.

First Bump Update - EVER

My First EVER actual "Bump Update"I am so excited!! Still a little in shock that this is all real.
I was goin to do one "bare bump" but thought that might be too risk-ay. Jk.

Fall / Bump it

It is officially Fall! I don't know if I have ever been happier to be in Fall! The clothing is so much more comfy for my ever growing belly. I have so so many things I am looking forward to this breezy season! First things first, our next ultrasound is the beginning of October and I just need a confirmation on the sex of our baby and we'll start a flippin NURSERY!! I am on cloud nine thinking about a baby room and all the joy it'll be filled with. I have almost an exact image in mind. Can't wait to put it to action.

Second - All the best shows start back up in the Fall. I'm loving my XFactor and The Voice back to back all week. I can snuggle up with a cup of chocky milk and cry over silly little stories they put in there.

Third - Crafts! I have no Fall decor so I have been crafting up a storm. Okay not really. I've done 2 things. Little things. But more to come! I will make sure to share.

Cravings / Give Away!!

IN case you haven't noticed yet I am obsessed with pregnancy and sharing bits and pieces of it. I have had definitely a more nauseous last 4 months but oh so worth it! I have heard of "cravings" being a big thing that comes with baby growing. I don't imagine myself ever scarfing down a jar of pickles dipped in peanut butter anytime but I am definitely more picky with what I put in my belly.

My "aversions" right now include: Spaghetti, ground hamburger on anything, Panda, PB & J, prenatals.

"Cravings" would be: Slurpee's, chocolate milk, chicken on anything, ranch, french fries, smoothies, cheese, cereal.

I have also found that when I sing I don't feel sick. I think our baby is going to love music. And I burp a LOT!

I also wanted to share with you all a cute little give away / guest post from Caiti over at Caitimae. She is a brilliant crafting / DIY genius! She makes the cutest accessories and is a great baker! Plus she's just the freakin cutest! Here she is:

Hello Allie’s readers! I’m so excited to be here today! I love this blog and so appreciate the opportunity Allie has given me to do a giveaway!

Let me introduce myself.. My name is Caiti I blog over at Caitimae. I grew up in Utah and moved to Colorado a few years ago.  I love anything that your grandmother loves; thrift stores, baking, yarn, books, and rearranging furniture, oh, and going to bed before the sun goes down.

I would love for you to stop by my blog sometime!

Now.. for something fun!
I recently opened Etsy shop called Minty Designs, and have a new product I want to share with you!

Girls love watching football, for a few reasons:
  1. The food. It’s a good excuse to pig out
  2. Players butts/physical physique
  3. Fashionable clothing to support their team
I have noticed that there isn’t a lot of clothing/accessories for women when it comes to Sports.  So, who wouldn’t want a custom accessory to wear while yelling at the T.V? It become a necessity.

Place a comment with what style you like best, and your favorite football team, the winner will get a custom scarf! Good luck, and happy blogging!

She's So Lucky

Oh baby
I'm so into you,
darlin if you only knew,
all the fears that float through my mind.

I feel good. I feel happy.

Happy Sunday!

Now, I wanted to wait.. about a week longer, to say something to the social media.
 Not Jordan!
He was ready weeks ago!! I would keep telling him "just wait, we're still in a sensitive time" he'd respond with "everything will be fine, I promise" It was really sweet how excited he was to share to the world that he was going to be a daddy. I was equally as excited, but not as confident that everything would "be alright." We have been here before. But every day that passed I felt a little safer and a little more like "it really may be okay." To want something so incredibly bad, and to wait every month just for another let down, really does take it's tole on your emotions. All I can say is how grateful I am for a strong and loving husband who wanted it just as badly as I did but stood strong. He really was my rock these last 2 years. It killed me that I couldn't give him a family. No matter what we did, or what I did. So when I was a day late we went and picked up a test. I always thought I would surprise him with some crazy way that I was pregnant. (I still get butterflies when I see the words "pregnant" and that it pertains to me) But when I knew, I couldn't wait one second, I broke down in tears of joy. And had to share with him right away! I had experienced lower back pain for the week prior so immediately I was afraid this would be another early miscarriage. The back pain continued for another 2 weeks. Then it subsided and was replaced with morning sickness, which I always heard was a good sign, so I didn't mind too much. I am just so happy to finally have passed my 12 week mark and although many fears are still buried in my little head, I feel more at ease. What an amazingly lucky person I am.

I tell myself that all the time lately! I can't help it. I am just so so lucky. Not only to be able to experience a baby growing inside of me and start a family, but to do it all with a man who is the love of my life and makes me so so happy. A man who will be the most amazing daddy. Who has made me laugh through tears and rubbed my back when I couldn't take pain relievers. On top of all that, I have such an amazing family, step family, and in-laws. Jordan and I both have supportive friends. We love our jobs and our little home. We feel we have worked for it all.. don't get me wrong, it didn't come easy, but...

I am so lucky.

Baby!

Surprise!!!

I feel like my secret was given away from all of the signs. I am eating all of the time, have roots half way down my head, wearing baggy clothing, the list goes on. Honestly, I was terrified to tell anyone our most exciting news! It has been such a long time coming. I have been waiting so long, I feel like forever, to tell everyone this amazing news!

The joy that came with the simplest words "pregnant" on a positive test. I can never fully explain! I won't get into all of the details of the last two years. But Jordan and I are so super excited to start our family together!!! I am incredibly stoked to get to give him a baby.

Can't wait to share the rest of our journey as we grow!
